HOLIDAY

At Temple B’nai Or, High Holy Day preparation begins with Elul, the month leading up to the Chagim.  Rabbi Satz will be teaching a course titled, “Chesbon HaNefesh: Accounting of the Soul, Intro to Mussar.” Rabbi Emeritus Rossoff is returning over ZOOM to teach a class titled, “The Binding of Isaac in Art.”

S’lichot is the service during Elul and before the Chagim that includes study and prayer that uses the High Holy Day “tunes” or trope.  This year, we will continue our tradition of doing a joint S’lichot service with the Morristown Jewish Center Beit Yisrael at their facility.

During the High Holy Days, our congregation ensures that there is something for everyone, from our youngest members on up.  We hold special services Erev Rosh HaShanah and Erev Yom Kippur for our families with young children, our Torah Explorer crowd, High Holidays B’yachad: A Family Journey Through the Days of Awe. Join us B’yachad  – together -as we welcome the sacred High Holidays in a warm, joyful, and meaningful way designed especially for families with young children age 0-7.  Unlike other Torah Explorer events, no food will be served.
