TORAH EXPLORERS
Join our learning expeditions as we explore Jewish values and traditions, Israel and Torah, and so much more through fun activities, t’fillah, and song! Perfect for all children up to age seven and their grownups. Torah Explorers typically meets the third Friday of every month at 5:30 PM. Stay for a pizza dinner followed by our warm Kabbalat Shabbat services! Each month we will explore a new theme. Each month the children get a new stamp in their passport. MUSIC TOGETHER® SING SHALOM at Temple B’nai Or
The Frances and Herbert Brody Preschool at Temple B’nai Or is beginning its second year as a licensed Music Together® Center, and our classes are booming!
Your newborn through five-year-old and a caregiver can be immersed in both World and Jewish music for eight weeks of Sing Shalom classes! Offering a Babies class for infants (birth to eight months) with their adult and a Mixed Ages class (birth to five years) with their adult, there’s a place for every young family! As our TBO preschoolers enjoy their Music Together In School, your family can experience the wonder of family classes.
FALL SESSION of Music Together™ Sing Shalom – The Bongos Collection. 9-Week Session!
Mondays: Mixed Ages (birth to age 5) 9:45 – 10:30 am
Tuesdays: Mixed Ages (birth to age 5) 10:30 – 11:15 am
Tuesdays: Babies (birth to 8 months) 11:30 am – 12:15 pm
Fall classes begin on Monday, September 11 and Tuesday, September 12. Sessions extend for 9 fun-filled weeks!
As noted by program collaborator The Jewish Education Project, the weekly parent-child music classes are uniquely designed for families with young children (birth-age 5) using the internationally recognized Music Together early childhood music education program, enriched with Jewish songs and activities. Each week, a community of families comes together to sing, dance, and play in a class led by a trained Music Together teacher with a Jewish background. The music in a Sing Shalom class includes your favorite multi-cultural traditional and original Music Together songs, supplemented with a new Jewish repertoire. This new Jewish collection of songs combines familiar (and not so familiar) songs that help parents introduce a rich Jewish heritage to their children and each semester (Fall, Winter, Spring) features a new set of supplemental songs.
Families will learn lots of ways to interact musically with their child, while supporting their development, strengthening family relationships, and helping them connect with the Jewish music tradition. Parents value the high quality music class with the opportunity to expose their children to Jewish music and culture through songs and activities.
All families in Sing Shalom classes receive the Music Together song collection materials for that semester (book, CD, download code) PLUS the online playlist of Sing Shalom songs!
